  (구)동보서적 옆 수양빌딩 지하에 있는 부산공간화랑은 75년에 개관한 서양화 전문화랑이다. 연륜에서나 중량감에서나 이 화랑을 '부산 미술계'란 지역울타리로 묶기엔 부족하다. 그저 한국에서 다섯 손가락 안에 꼽히는 문화소통 공간쯤으로 해두면 그리 틀린 평점은 아닐 성 싶다. 화랑에 들어서면 한쪽 벽면에 전속작가이자 일본 모노파 운동의 선구자 이우환 선생의 그림이 걸려 있는데 하얀 캔버스 위에 점 하나만 덩그렇게 자리한 100호짜리 그림이다. 한국화랑협회 초대 감정위원장을 지낸 신옥진 부산공간화랑 대표는 '상업적 시각이 아니라 예술품을 골라내는 안목으로' 엄선하여 많은 작가의 작품을 부산공간화랑에서 부산의 시민들을 비롯한 문화예술인들에게 선보였다. 그 동안 부산공간화랑은 2005년 30주년 개관 기념전을 비롯해 남관 특별회고전, 부산청년미술상 수상작가전, 사석원, 노원희 기획전과 안창홍, 최석운, 이철수 작품전 등 주목받은 전시회를 열어왔다 |
